Cocaine and crack are both classified as Class A drugs and are controlled drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Act. Other than for licensed medical uses, both substances are illegal to produce, supply or possess. It is also illegal to allow premises that you control or manage to be used for production, supply or use of crack or cocaine.

The maximum penalty in the UK for possession of these substances is seven years imprisonment.
The maximum penalty for supplying crack or cocaine is Life Imprisonment.

The recent deaths of two teenage girls in an apparent suicide pact in Australia has raised fears of copycat self-harm behaviours, influenced by youth subcultures and their online activities on sites such as MySpace.

George Patton, Melbourne s Royal Children s Hospital professor of adolescent health was reported in Melbourne s The Age as saying that the internet intensifies the risk of suicide contagion.

It is universally acknowledged that breastfeeding your baby gives her the best start in life. The nutrients and antibodies in the mother s bloodstream are passed onto her child through breastfeeding, thus helping her baby to develop its own natural defences against infection. However there are some dangers and risks of breastfeeding that mothers should be ware of.

Breastfeeding dehydration most often occurs in babies who are born to first time mothers. This is usually brought about because of a difficult delivery or because medication was used before or soon after the baby was born. This can lead to a less vigorous or sleepy baby and thus, inadequate feeding at the breast. In the most severe cases, dehydration can

lead to brain damage. However, this is very, very rare and most times this problem is picked up before the mother and child leave hospital. Treatment is simply to give the baby bottles of water or baby formula milk. Encouragement and support is also given to the mother after leaving the hospital and most times breastfeeding improves and the baby flourishes.

LSD, or lysergic acid diethylamide, is a drug that is made from a fungus, called ergot, which grows on wheat and rye. This drug was first made in 1938 by two chemists from Switzerland, Albert Hofmann and Arthur Stoll. One of them accidentally swallowed some of the drug they had created and they then found out the effects of LSD.
